Toba Marine Technology is an Australian family-owned business based in Fremantle, Western Australia and run by us, John and Emilia Gray.

We love our waterways here in WA and enjoy boating all year round. Our own boating has always been done on a budget, and largely improved by John being an experienced marine mechanic.

Throughout the last 30 years, we refurbished a number of older boats,  each a bit bigger than the last, with the long-term goal in mind of a bigger and more comfortable boat to enjoy our family holiday retreat up and down the Western Australian coast with our two kids, Sam (15) & Ellie (14).

Toba was born from necessity and our desire to improve the running of a boat with practical technology, much like the modern technology generally found in new boats these days. The main challenge was to produce a similar experience of high quality, whilst highly adaptable to the older vessels with older engines and means of engineering, perhaps with fewer frills.

When using our boat every aspect of safety is always of the highest priority. We want to have confidence and reliability in how we monitor the boat’s propulsion and other systems so that the experience is perhaps very similar to new boats in these highly technologically influenced times. We have begun that journey with three focal points in mind: Quality, Price and the User experience. Just because these are boating products, they shouldn't cost the earth.

Our goal is to continue producing high-quality and affordable marine technology enhancing the very thing we all love to do, boating.
